Advent at HBBC
Our Advent theme for this year is “How Great Our Joy!” We look forward to the many experiences and offerings of joy we can share with our family, church, and community this season. ANGEL TREE
Share the joy of Christmas!
The holiday season is here, and Angel Tree wish lists are on the trees in the Welcome Center. Consider participating in this mission by choosing an angel or two! There is a $65 limit for each angel. Gift cards are encouraged for wishes above that limit and for hard-to-find wish list items. To make a monetary donation, go to hbbc.org/give and select Angel Tree in the drop-down menu. Donate by check to HBBC with Angel Tree written on the memo line. All gifts are due back to the Welcome Center on or before Sunday, December 7. Contact Stephanie Gross (sgrossmail@gmail.com) for more information.
CHRISTMAS MISSIONS OFFERING
The Christmas Missions Offering is an opportunity to bless the world through giving. Did you know that at our church’s first worship service, an offering for missions was collected, and we want to celebrate this during our centennial year. Missions are at the heart of who we are, and what better way to celebrate than to share our great joy in the coming of the Christ child with those around us in need.
There are three areas where you can designate your gifts this year: CBF Global Missions Offering, Special Centennial Missions Focus – World Hunger, and HBBC Missions. You can give using one of the Christmas Missions Offering envelopes or online at hbbc.org/give and choose the fund to which you would like to apply your gift.
Our goal this year is $45,000. Prayerfully consider how you might help us achieve it.
POINSETTIAS
Each Christmas, we beautify our Sanctuary with poinsettias. You and your family may give one in memory or honor of a loved one or someone meaningful to you. Your gift helps defray the cost of the Sanctuary poinsettias and of those taken to members served by the Home Visitation Ministry. The poinsettias cost $12 each. A list of donors will be published. Order online at hbbc.org/advent-activities or turn in one of the printed forms found around the church with a check (made out to HBBC). The deadline for submitting orders is Monday, December 8.
ADVENT DEVOTIONALS AVAILABLE
This year, our Advent theme is How Great Our Joy. Using a weekly resource created by our ministers, we encourage you to explore the many ways we can seek and experience joy in our daily lives. The resource includes Scripture, songs, prayers, and responses to guide you as you prepare for the coming Christ child. Booklets are available at the Welcome Center desk and around the church. Please pick one up to use with your family during this sacred season!

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE
IN-PERSON | Wednesday, December 17 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel
The Service of Remembrance is a time to worship God and reflect on past events, especially the losses we have experienced. The service will be a time of reflection for anyone who has experienced life-changing events, whether through death, loss of a relationship, loss of employment, separation and divorce, loss of health, or other significant events.
Everyone is invited to place an offering of memories on a table in the Chapel before the service begins; these symbols of remembrance may be photos or other items related to your loss. You can take your memory item with you after the service.
Certainly, the holidays can be a difficult time when one is experiencing the pain of loss. This time of reflection and worship will offer a meaningful way of remembering your loss and honoring your personal grief process. Please invite coworkers, friends, and family members who may find this service meaningful as they grieve during the Christmas season.
A time of gathering, conversation, and refreshments will be held in Hailey Hall following the service.
