MEMBER RESOURCES

Being a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church means being part of a vibrant community of the faithful. We worship, learn and work together to strengthen our bonds with God and each other. We offer many ways for members to get involved in the life of our church and receive the blessings of fellowship for themselves and their families.

missions

Hayes Barton Baptist Church is involved in a wide range of missions here in the Raleigh area, across the United States and around the world. Through these missions, we serve people in need and expand our Christian community.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Every month, our ministerial staff spends dedicated, intentional time together praying over the needs of our congregation. To let them know what burdens and blessings you may be experiencing, please fill out this form. Prayer requests are confidential unless you specify otherwise.

Baptisms

We believe that baptism by immersion is the New Testament model and that it is to be administered upon a person’s profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Weddings

A wedding is a sacred occasion that indicates a covenant to establish a Christian home and to live lives committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. That’s why only Hayes Barton Baptist Church members (bride, groom, his or her parents or grandparents) can be married at HBBC.

Funerals

A funeral or memorial service is twofold in that it is a service of Worship in Witness to the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and in Gratitude to God for the Life of a loved one. Our ministers, staff, and bereavement committee are ready to walk with families during this time.

CHRISTIAN RESOURCE CENTER

The church library of Hayes Barton Baptist Church is very thoughtfully named the Christian Resource Center (CRC). The mission of the Christian Resource Center is to serve as a steward of media resources that strengthen and support the ministries of HBBC, its members, visitors, and community.

CONSIDER BECOMING A STEPHEN MINISTER

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” — Matthew 7:7–8, NIV

Do you have a heart for helping others? Are you a good listener? Are you looking for a way to share Christ with others? Then you may be a wonderful candidate to become a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are lay members trained to provide one-on-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation. Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life and share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need. Opportunities to serve are in-person, via phone, or through Zoom. If you are interested in learning more contact Bob Hutzler (bobincary@aol.com) or Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org).

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE THAT NEEDS A VISIT?

Do you know a homebound church member who would like someone to call or visit with them each month? We are working to identify those members that would like to stay connected with a member from our home visitation team. If you know someone, please contact Linda Giles (lgiles443@aol.com).
