Organ Scholarship Guidelines

Award

  • Full Tuition and Registration Fee for 1-hour or 45-minute lessons for one semester
  • Organ Shoes cost reimbursement up to $100 (if needed)
  • Music Allowance (up to $50)

Age Specifications

  • Middle School through Adult

Expectations

  • Lessons
  1. Consistent, punctual attendance
  2. Arrive with all music, materials, and organ shoes
  3. Makeup policies of the School of Music will be followed by the teacher and student

Practice

  1. Consistent practice according to the teacher’s expectations
  2. HBBC’s organ may be used for practice, although advance scheduling is needed

Recital participation

  1. Participation in Winter and Spring Recitals is required

Progress Reports

  • A verbal progress report will be provided to the School of Music Director in the middle of the semester 
  • A written progress report will be provided to the School of Music Director at the end of the semester

Future Organ Scholarships

  • Recipients may be awarded this scholarship for up to 4 semesters, provided they meet expectations as stated. Recipients must reapply each semester.

NOTE: Applications for this scholarship will be reviewed by the Hayes Barton School of Music Board after considering a recommended action offered by the School of Music Director. The Board may consider time-sensitive applications through an email vote. Applications will be presented to the Board without identifying personal information.
