Organ Scholarship Guidelines
Award
- Full Tuition and Registration Fee for 1-hour or 45-minute lessons for one semester
- Organ Shoes cost reimbursement up to $100 (if needed)
- Music Allowance (up to $50)
Age Specifications
- Middle School through Adult
Expectations
- Lessons
- Consistent, punctual attendance
- Arrive with all music, materials, and organ shoes
- Makeup policies of the School of Music will be followed by the teacher and student
Practice
- Consistent practice according to the teacher’s expectations
- HBBC’s organ may be used for practice, although advance scheduling is needed
Recital participation
- Participation in Winter and Spring Recitals is required
Progress Reports
- A verbal progress report will be provided to the School of Music Director in the middle of the semester
- A written progress report will be provided to the School of Music Director at the end of the semester
Future Organ Scholarships
- Recipients may be awarded this scholarship for up to 4 semesters, provided they meet expectations as stated. Recipients must reapply each semester.
NOTE: Applications for this scholarship will be reviewed by the Hayes Barton School of Music Board after considering a recommended action offered by the School of Music Director. The Board may consider time-sensitive applications through an email vote. Applications will be presented to the Board without identifying personal information.
