Promise Scholarship Guidelines
- The availability of Promise scholarships will be based on funds available.
- Applications for Promise scholarships will be reviewed by the Hayes Barton School of Music Board after considering a recommended action offered by the School of Music Director. The Board may consider time-sensitive applications through email. Applications will be presented to the Board without identifying personal information, including an applicant’s name.
- The Hayes Barton Baptist School of Music Board’s determinations will be based on financial need and on other circumstances relating to the applicant’s family or individual child to be enrolled. In making its determination, the Board will rely on the following criteria:
-
- A family who is living on a tight family budget whose child has been enrolled in HBBC School of Music for at least one year.
- A family who has more than one child enrolled in the SOM program and is experiencing a financial hardship.
- A family who is experiencing an unexpected family hardship such as a medical emergency, job loss or other financial emergency.
- Promise scholarships granted by the Board terminate at the end of each semester, unless the Board sets an earlier termination date, or the award recipient is no longer enrolled or in need of financial assistance..
