Stewardship

For almost 100 years, Hayes Barton Baptist Church has been blessed by the generosity of members who have faithfully given of their resources, time, and talents to the work and ministry of the church. During January, Generations of Generosity” will be our theme in worship, as well as during our Stewardship emphasis. As we give thanks for the many gifts God has given us, we will consider how we can join with those who have gone before us in generously sharing what we have to the glory of God.

Our Stewardship emphasis will conclude on Sunday, February 1, with Celebration Sunday. As we have done in past years, at the end of our worship service, everyone will have the opportunity to come forward to place their completed estimate of giving cards on the Communion table. These commitments guide planning for the ministry and missions of HBBC in 2026.

Following the service, we will gather in the Family Life Center to share a delicious catered meal. Due to the generosity of a family in our church, we can offer this meal at no charge (reservations required).

As you prepare to participate in Celebration Sunday, we invite you to prayerfully consider your financial commitment to the church in 2026. Use the materials you received in the Stewardship mailing, including a Step Chart, Tithing Table, and the Estimate of Giving Card, as you plan for the year ahead. Let each of us respond according to our ability. As one old stewardship expression goes, “not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.”

If you are unable to join us for Celebration Sunday, you can return your Estimate of Giving Card online.
