YOUTH BASKETBALL MINISTRY

The 2024-2025 Basketball season will begin soon. The season begins in December and ends in February. Practices will begin in November.

The mission of the RBA Boys and Girls League is to provide an opportunity for students attending church to develop and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the sport of basketball and the fellowship and witness with and to others. This league provides an outreach opportunity for students to invite their friends to play while attending church to develop a greater understanding of Philippians 4:13 which states "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (NKJV)

• Girls Basketball (grades 6-12)
• Freshman Boys Basketball (grades 4-6)
• Junior Boys Basketball (grades 7-9)
• Senior Boys Basketball (grades 10-12)

Player Eligibility

Boys Youth Basketball is open to students who do not play on their middle or high school teams. For boys playing in the Junior and Senior leagues of the RBA, there is an attendance requirement. We begin tracking attendance in October.

Please turn in all forms to your coach before the first game.

Each player needs to complete a participation waiver. These forms need to be returned to your coach before the first games.

Attendance requirements:

Junior and Senior boys teams must attend:

• at least 4 Youth Ministry events prior to the first game in December.
• at least 5 additional Youth Ministry events prior to the first game in January.
• at least 5 additional Youth Ministry events prior to the first game in February.
• 14 events minimum throughout the season.

Activities that may be counted toward this total include:

• Youth Sunday School (1 credit)
• Youth Handbells Rehearsal (1 credit)
• Youth Choir Rehearsal (1 credit)
• Youth Sunday Evenings (1 credit)
• Youth Wednesday Evenings (1 credit)
• Youth Trips/Retreats (1 credit per day)
