Youth Ministry at HBBC: A Place to Belong and Become
At Hayes Barton, our youth ministry is a place for students of all kinds to belong, without exception. Regardless of a student’s background, what school they attend, or their current level of faith, all are welcome to truly belong for who they are.
As individuals and a group, we strive to become the people God has created and called us to be. Through tenants of community, discipleship, and purpose, our youth ministry is a place to grow with one another into the people we were made to become.

Sunday Night Youth
Our main gathering of the week, Sunday Night Youth is a mixture of fellowship, fun, and discipleship. Our usual schedule looks something like this:
6:00pm – Dinner
6:30pm – Recreation and free time
7:00pm – Large group worship and Bible study
7:30pm – Small groups
8:00pm – Dismissal
Wednesday Night Youth
Our midweek youth gathering is more informal and “low-key” than our Sunday night gathering. After Family Night Dinner, youth meet from 6:00-7:00pm to explore life and faith together. Bible study, activity, and service are just a few of the ways we put this into practice each week.
Sunday School
Along with weekly gatherings, our youth have a variety of special activities and events throughout the year. You can find the most current schedule here.
YOUTH PROTECTION AT HBBC
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs” (Matthew 19:14).
At Hayes Barton Baptist Church, we strive to welcome our youth as Jesus did and provide an environment in which every youth feels safe, valuable and loved. We also recognize that youth are especially vulnerable. That’s why we consider the safety and wellbeing of children and youth to be of the highest priority.
Our Child and Youth Protection Policy ensures that we’re doing everything in our power to protect both our youth and our volunteers. The policy affirms our commitment to provide a safe place for youth and children and provides specific guidelines for employees and volunteers.
Every volunteer working with children or youth is required to complete an annual safety training and background check. We utilize a secure online resource called Protect My Ministry for our awareness training and background checks. The Child and Youth Protection Policy also establishes guidelines for overnight camps and retreats.
Youth Communication
To stay up to date with the latest youth news, our youth ministry offers a weekly newsletter email as well as a text messaging system for youth and their parents/guardians. If you would like to register for either or both of these, contact Christian at cjustice@hbbc.org.
