HBBC NOW

DESSERTS AND CAKES NEEDED

It’s time for our Fall Kick-off and we need your help in bringing items for our Dessert Walk. Please bring items packaged for a family of 4-5 people (half of a cake or a dozen cookies or sweet treats). This helps the walk last longer and allows more people to win.  All items need to be brought to the FLC-Gym by 5:30 PM on Wednesday, September 11. If you have any questions, please contact Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org or 919-645-6722).

BUSINESS MEETING

IN PERSON | Sunday, August 18 at the end of the worship service

Join us for our business meeting as we share the report from the nominating committee and approve volunteers for the upcoming church year.

CHURCH ENTRANCE CHANGE

August 12-16

During the week of August 12, the connector corridor will be closed. The Whitaker Mill entrance (door by the conference room/office suite) will be the main entrance unless your activity occurs in the FLC building. The Welcome Center will only be open for access to the gym and FLC classrooms. Thank you in advance for adjusting your regular pathway into the church building.

GRACE OFFERING

During the month of August, we collect our Grace Offering. This special offering provides financial support for a variety of important ministries in our community and beyond. In contributing, you can choose to designate your offering to Hayes Barton Baptist Church Mission Projects/Trips, Baptists on Mission, or Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina. Each of these ministries impacts our local community, and your gifts help share God's love throughout our state. You should receive a mailing that shares more information about each of these ministries.

Our goal for this year is $20,000. You can give by returning your offering in the envelopes provided around the church or by going to hbbc.org/give. Make sure to designate the ministry that you want to give to in the dropdown menu. Any undesignated Grace Offerings will be equally divided among the three choices. Please make sure to put “Grace Offering” on the memo line.

LEDFORD MISSIONS FUND

If you would like to request funding for a 2025 mission project through the Ledford Missions Endowment Fund, please submit your proposal to the Ledford Missions Fund Council by July 31, 2024. The Council will review requests in August and bring recommendations for the distribution of available funds at the congregation’s September business meeting. Application forms are available here or in the church office. Completed forms must be returned by July 31. This fund was established through a gift by the late Hubert F. Ledford, a longtime stalwart member of the congregation. To be eligible for funding, a project must conform to our congregation’s definition of missions... “the deliberate and diligent effort of the congregation, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to extend the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed to as many people as possible locally and throughout the world, both Christian and non-Christian.”
