DISASTER RELIEF

There are several ways you can help HBBC support the Helene Recovery efforts:

Donate Funds: ou can give by cash, check, or online here. Make sure to choose Helene Recovery in the dropdown.

Donate Supplies:

FBC Marion is in urgent need of the following items:

  • Blankets

  • Gloves (work and winter)

  • Men’s work socks

  •  Warm socks of all kinds

  • Toiletries

  • Hygiene products

  • Heaters

  • Lanterns (LED and propane)

  • Flashlight batteries

  • Propane camping stoves

  • Screw in bottles of propane

  • Sleeping bags

  •  4-6 Man tents

  • 5 Gallon buckets

  • 5 Gallon gas cans

  • Extension cords

  • Basic tools (hammer, screwdrivers, pry bar, etc.)

  • Safety glasses

  •  Mops

  • Shovels

Fill a Pallet: Bring non-perishable food items and help us fill a pallet for Brushy Fork Baptist Church in Vilas. Add your items to the pallet located in the Welcome Center.

Consider Going: If you are interested in serving, let us know. We will have a brief meeting following the Adult Gathering on Wednesday, October 9 or you can email Kristen (kmuse@hbbc.org).  

HBBC CANDLEHOLDER

During the pandemic, the HBBC candleholder was revealed and many have gotten one of their own as a source of faith, hope, and love in their home. We have some available for those who still want to purchase one. Each candle is $60 plus an additional $20 if you need it shipped. Each of these is hand-spun and made. Placing an order is a two-step process.

2. Pay online at here, send payment by mail (1800 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27608); or bring cash/check upon pickup.

SINGLES FELLOWSHIP FOR ADULTS

IN-PERSON | Sunday, October 27 at 12:00 PM in Hailey Hall 

All adult singles are invited to join us for the monthly Singles Gathering following the worship service on the last Sunday of each month. Singles from all walks of life (widowed, divorced, or never been married) are encouraged to be a part. Lunch will be provided for $8 per person. We need your reservation by Wednesday, October 25 to plan accordingly. RSVP at hbbc.org by clicking on the Singles Fellowship button or call the church office (919-833-4617) to add your name to the list. MEN’S OUTING

IN-PERSON | Tuesday, November 12 at 8:00 AM to Linbrook Heritage Estate  

Join the Yost Bible study men on an outing and lunch. With over 500 acres of farmland and forestry, this estate holds a mission to preserve the rich history and heritage of over 250 years of farm life in North Carolina. The Vintage Tractor and Antique Industrial Museum will be a highlight of the trip. The group will meet at the church at 8:00 AM and plan to return by 3:30 PM. The cost is $5 per person plus lunch at Pioneer Restaurant. Reservations are needed by Friday, November 1 to secure transportation. GREATER TRIANGLE AREA CROP HUNGER WALK: TEAM HBBC 

IT'S NOT TO LATE TO DONATE!

It is not too late to donate to the HBBC team and help us reach our goal of $1,000! CWS is accepting donations for this event until Saturday, November 30. The church will match the donation up to another $1,000! A portion of the team's raised funds will help Western NC with long-term disaster recovery efforts. A $75 donation can provide an emergency clean-up bucket. Donate by going to hbbc.org and clicking on the CROP Hunger Walks button.

MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER MEETING

VIRTUAL | Mondays at 7:00 PM

Join members of the Koinonia Sunday School class and others to pray virtually each Monday night. This is simply a time to pray for others and the world. Church issues and politics are not discussed; instead, the time is devoted to prayer. Are you a saver? Need to declutter? We need YOU! In preparation for HBBC’s 100th anniversary in 2026, the Archives and History Committee is completing the organization of the church’s records. We are missing a number of publications. Please help us complete our files. Especially needed are:

  • Newsletters: 2002-2003, 2006-2008

  • Happenings: 2012
